Ever fancy yourself as producer? Beginners will learn the basic techniques of how to create a beat on Logic. You will learn about drum racks, samples, sounds and mixing skills and start to construct song ideas in our very own SOLE studios. You will get a chance to share your own work in a supportive environment and receive valuable feedback from our experienced mentor and group in special listening sessions.
Once you have completed the 6 month producing beats 1 course you will receive a certificate and have a chance to move to our collab course. In the collab course you will follow our bronze, silver gold certificate programme where we go more into depth on all aspects and you will receive more time focused time in the studios applying the principles you have learnt in the beginners course. There will be lots of collaboration and 1:1 time with the production mentors within the sessions to answer specific questions and you will start finishing productions you will be proud to share!
OUR PRODUCTION MENTORS
Hailing from Christchurch, Kamandi first came to national and international attention in 2012, when he began disseminating his original bedroom productions online via soundcloud and bandcamp. He followed that up with performances around the country, where his sound caught the ears of Madcap Touring, Red Bull Sound Select, Brainfeeder, 36Brickhouse, Hit+Run Crew, and numerous radio stations worldwide.
As testament to his talents, Kamandi's output has seen him accumulate tens of millions of online plays across various streaming platforms as well as making numerous headline performances and festival appearances. A beat-maker, producer and live performer, Kamandi first experimented with music as a bass guitarist in his teens. He brings a studied understanding of audio and stage performance to his music and its live presentation.
Chris Wethey is producer, musician and songwriter based in Otautahi. He is in high demand as a session bassist and singer, and has performed with many of Aotearoa’s finest musical talents including Holly Arrowsmith, Emily Browning, Georgie Clifford, Jack Page, The Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, as well as musical theatre work with The Court Theatre and Showbiz Christchurch.
Chris has recorded, produced and released two solo EPs as Chris William, and is currently working as a freelance producer, collaborating with a number of artists around the country.
He brings ten years of teaching experience to SOLE, along with a friendly and easy rapport with students.

It is recommended to also take the Music Theory Course which is specifically designed for songwriters and producers to understand the mechanics behind why melodies and chord progressions fit together to 100% improve your productions.
You can work your way up through the certificate programme graded levels until you may be considered for the artist development programme.
You will also get an opportunity to showcase your productions at our listening parties
and learn how to transfer your production to a live set onto Ableton Live.
