Zara Doig

Zara has been performing from a very young age. She has a strong classical background as her mother and grandfather both have very successful classical singing careers. 

Zara started her singing career as a classical singer performing with Kiri Te Kanawa. She performed a private concert for lyricist Tim Rice and was an active member of the New Zealand Secondary Schools Choir where she travelled to Canada with them in 2010. 

At the age of 15 she made the change to contemporary music where she focused mainly on musical theatre but then at the age of 23 she attended Ara Music Arts and graduated in 2018 with a bachelor of Music arts in 2018. For the last 5 years she has been performing with her band Urban Rumour all over Christchurch and successfully completed a nation wide tour in 2019. 

She has been actively teaching over the last 5 years focusing on a wide variety of genres both through private teaching and also leading group performances and choirs.
